Indonesia renews antidumping duties on imported HRC for 5 years

Komite Anti Dumping Indonesia (Indonesian Antidumping Committee) document seen by S&P Global Commodity Insights showed.

The original antidumping duties first entered into force Feb. 28, 2008, and the latest renewal was a result of a sunset review that began Feb. 6, 2023, following an application by PT Krakatau Steel.

The renewed tariffs were left unchanged from the previous tariffs that had expired on April 2, 2024.

Meanwhile, steel import activities in Indonesia have slowed recently, amid weak demand ahead of the Lunar New Year celebration and as most buyers wait to renew their import quotas, according to market participants.

The renewed tariffs cover flat-rolled products made of iron or non-alloy steel with a width of 600 mm or more, hot rolled, not coated, not plated or not coated, in rolls.

The affected flat steel products fall under HS codes: 72081000, 72082500, 72082600, 72082711, 72082719, 72082791, 72082799, 72083600, 72083700, 72083800, 72083910, 72083920, 72083930, 72083940, 72083990, 72089010, 72089020 and 72089090.
